On 20th August 2026, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram had the privilege of visiting the International Business Women’s Association “Tadbirkor Ayol” in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and meeting with Chairperson Ms. Gulnora Makhmudova and the Association’s senior management team.
The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to discuss one of the most important drivers of inclusive and sustainable economic growth: empowering women to establish, expand, and internationalize their businesses. The exchange focused on enhancing the role of women entrepreneurs in national development and strengthening their participation in regional and global markets.
During the discussion, both sides explored opportunities to support women-led enterprises through:
- International market access and export development;
- Investment and financing opportunities;
- Capacity building, mentorship, and leadership development;
- Cross-border business partnerships and networking;
- Creating stronger platforms for women entrepreneurs to engage with international markets.
“Tadbirkor Ayol” has established a remarkable ecosystem for women entrepreneurs across Uzbekistan. Through its longstanding commitment to economic empowerment, the Association has played a significant role in expanding opportunities for women in both urban and rural communities, encouraging entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable business growth.
From a strategic perspective, women’s entrepreneurship is not merely a social priority—it is a powerful economic growth strategy. When women have access to capital, knowledge, technology, markets, and international networks, the benefits extend far beyond individual enterprises. Such empowerment contributes to job creation, innovation, family prosperity, community development, and broader economic resilience.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of strengthening international cooperation and creating meaningful partnerships that can facilitate knowledge exchange, business collaboration, and greater participation of women entrepreneurs in global value chains. These efforts can help unlock new opportunities and contribute to more inclusive economic development across the region.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram greatly appreciated the warm hospitality and constructive dialogue with Chairperson Gulnora Makhmudova and her team. He expressed his keen interest in exploring practical avenues of cooperation that can transform these discussions into tangible opportunities and lasting partnerships for women entrepreneurs in both Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
Empowering women entrepreneurs. Expanding markets. Building sustainable economic partnerships.
