Promoting Pakistan as a Global Hub for Adventure Tourism

On 19 June 2026, it was a privilege for Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram to visit the Alpine Club of Pakistan alongside Senator Sarmad Ali, Managing Director of the Jang & Geo TV Network and President of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society.

During this important engagement, they had the opportunity to meet Irfan Irshad Khan, President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan, and Naila Kiani, one of Pakistan’s most accomplished and internationally recognized mountaineers.

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration among key stakeholders to further promote adventure tourism, mountaineering, and Pakistan’s immense natural potential on the global stage. Pakistan is home to some of the world’s most spectacular mountain ranges, including K2 and numerous other high peaks, offering unparalleled opportunities for climbers, trekkers, nature enthusiasts, and international tourists.

The meeting highlighted the importance of:

  • Showcasing Pakistan’s breathtaking landscapes and mountain tourism potential to international audiences.
  • Strengthening partnerships between media organizations, tourism institutions, and adventure sports communities.
  • Encouraging sustainable and responsible tourism practices that benefit local communities.
  • Promoting Pakistan’s positive image as a safe, vibrant, and welcoming destination for international visitors.
  • Supporting young adventurers, mountaineers, and tourism professionals through awareness, capacity building, and international engagement.

The role of media, tourism organizations, and adventure leaders is critical in positioning Pakistan as a premier destination for global tourism and outdoor exploration. Through collective efforts, new opportunities can be created for economic growth, cultural exchange, and international recognition.

Special appreciation is extended to the Alpine Club of Pakistan for its continued contributions to the development of mountaineering and adventure tourism in the country, and to Naila Kiani for inspiring a new generation through her remarkable achievements on some of the world’s highest peaks.

Together, we remain committed to advancing initiatives that highlight Pakistan’s extraordinary natural heritage and strengthen its standing as the “Heart of Mountains” for adventurers from around the world.
