On 8 October 2026, a four-member delegation of the International Business Women Association (IBWA) “Tadbirkor Ayol” of Uzbekistan, visiting Pakistan from 6 to 10 October 2026, visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Islamabad, where Mr. Mohammad Zikria Akbar Zia, President of ICCI, Mr. Mohammad Ashfaq Hussain Chatha, Senior Vice President of ICCI, Mr. Muhammad Waqas Khan, Vice President of ICCI, and members of the Executive Committee warmly welcomed the delegation.
The meeting provided a valuable platform for exchanging views on strengthening bilateral trade, promoting business cooperation, exploring investment opportunities, and enhancing institutional linkages between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. The visit was supported by Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Limited (HRL Group) and facilitated by Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram.
The delegation comprised Ms. Gulnora Makhmudova, Chairwoman of Uzbekistan International Business Women Association (IBWA) “Tadbirkor Ayol”, Ms. Nodira Begim Mukhamadalieva, Head of International Department of Uzbekistan IBWA “Tadbirkor Ayol”, Ms. Dilyafruz Tashmukhamedova, Chairwoman of IBWA “Tadbirkor Ayol”, Tashkent City Branch, and Ms. Anjelika Ogay, Project Manager of IBWA “Tadbirkor Ayol”, Tashkent City Branch. The delegation’s visit aimed to strengthen engagement with Pakistan’s business community and explore opportunities for expanding commercial relations and cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, discussions focused on avenues for promoting business-to-business collaboration, facilitating trade and investment, and developing stronger connections between Pakistani and Uzbek entrepreneurs. Particular emphasis was placed on women’s entrepreneurship, supporting women-led enterprises, expanding professional networks, and identifying potential areas of mutual interest for future collaboration. The engagement also offered an opportunity to exchange perspectives on enhancing economic partnerships and encouraging greater participation of women in business and entrepreneurial activities.
The ICCI leadership warmly welcomed the delegation and highlighted the importance of strengthening business relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan through institutional cooperation, commercial engagement, and regular interaction between their respective business communities. The discussions underscored the potential for developing mutually beneficial partnerships, facilitating business exchanges, and creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs in both countries.
The visit marked a positive step towards strengthening Pakistan-Uzbekistan business relations and promoting women’s economic empowerment. With the support of Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Limited (HRL Group) and the facilitation of Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, the engagement is expected to contribute to stronger institutional linkages, increased business networking, and expanded opportunities for trade, investment, and long-term economic cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
