“ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026” is a major international technology and innovation event bringing together technology leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and industry experts to explore the latest developments in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, telecommunications, fintech, digital infrastructure, and emerging technologies. The event also provides a platform for international engagement, knowledge exchange, technology showcases, and the development of new business and digital partnerships. The event is being held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from September 22–25, 2026. Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram attended the first two days of “ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026,” engaging in various meetings, exhibitions, and networking activities.
On the inaugural day, September 22, 2026, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram had the opportunity to meet His Excellency Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, and exchange views on digital innovation, technological advancement, and the growing opportunities for enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan in the fields of information technology and digital development. The discussions highlighted the importance of regional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation-driven growth in an increasingly interconnected digital world.
On the second day, September 23, 2026, of ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026, Mr. Akram engaged with representatives from leading international and regional technology companies and explored a wide range of innovative products and technological solutions shaping the future digital landscape. The exhibition featured prominent organizations including Meta, NVIDIA, IBM, Oracle Financial Services Software, Huawei, ZTE, HP, Coursera, CompTIA, NEC Corporation, Toyota Motor Corporation, Unitree, Uztelecom, UZINFOCOM, and several other technology enterprises. Their participation reflected the growing significance of Central Asia as an emerging center for technological innovation, digital investment, and international cooperation.
The showcased technologies highlighted significant advancements in artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, data analytics, cybersecurity, telecommunications, fintech, Internet of Things (IoT), and smart technologies. These developments demonstrated the increasing role of technology in driving economic modernization, enhancing connectivity, and fostering innovation-led growth across the region.
A notable highlight of the event was the Pakistan Pavilion, organized by SmarTech One, a subsidiary of Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. The pavilion served as an important platform for showcasing Pakistan’s technological capabilities, promoting innovation, and strengthening business and technology linkages between Pakistan and international partners. It also provided opportunities for engagement with investors, technology companies, and stakeholders interested in exploring future collaboration and partnership opportunities.
