On 4 September 2026, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram visited the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad and held a constructive meeting with H.E. Atadjan Movlamov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, to discuss opportunities for strengthening business-to-business relations and expanding economic cooperation between Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, discussions focused on enhancing bilateral trade and investment and exploring opportunities in key sectors including energy, logistics, agriculture, textiles, infrastructure, and regional connectivity. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening private-sector engagement and developing direct business linkages to translate diplomatic goodwill into tangible economic outcomes.

Mr. Akram highlighted the strategic importance of Turkmenistan in Pakistan’s growing engagement with Central Asia, particularly its potential to facilitate new trade routes, investment opportunities, regional value chains, and broader economic partnerships.
