On 19th August 2026, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram held a productive meeting with Mr. Makhsudov Jamol, PhD, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in Tashkent. The senior management of IT Park Uzbekistan was also present during the meeting.
The discussion focused on exploring new avenues for Pakistan–Uzbekistan cooperation in the digital economy, information technology, IT parks, data centers, emerging technologies, and future-oriented technology ecosystems. Both sides exchanged views on the rapidly evolving digital landscape and the opportunities it presents for regional collaboration, innovation, and sustainable economic growth.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram shared his perspective on the growing potential for deeper cooperation between the two countries, particularly in developing technology-driven investment partnerships, strengthening digital infrastructure, enhancing innovation ecosystems, and creating new opportunities for technology companies, entrepreneurs, and investors. He emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration between public and private sector stakeholders to accelerate digital transformation and support long-term economic development.
During the meeting, Mr. Akram also provided a detailed briefing on Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. (HRL), highlighting the company’s broader vision and areas of interest in technology, infrastructure development, investment, smart solutions, and international business cooperation. The discussion explored how private-sector expertise and government-led digital initiatives can complement one another to create sustainable and mutually beneficial opportunities.
Uzbekistan is rapidly emerging as a regional hub for technology and innovation, with significant progress being made in the development of digital infrastructure, IT parks, startup ecosystems, and technology investment frameworks.
