On 22nd April 2026, His Excellency Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, Republic of Uzbekistan met with Mr. Abid Kabir Cheema, Executive Director of Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. (HRL Group), one of the largest conglomerates in Pakistan, renowned for its extensive portfolio across diverse sectors including construction, engineering, and real estate development and also the CEO of Silicon Village.
The meeting took place during the visit of business delegation comprising leading entrepreneurs from Pakistan and South Korea, currently visiting Uzbekistan to explore investment and collaboration opportunities.
The meeting was facilitated and collaborated by Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, playing a key role in strengthening bilateral engagement and fostering meaningful dialogue between the stakeholders.
Discussions centered on expanding investment cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, with a strong emphasis on advancing joint initiatives in priority economic sectors. Both sides explored opportunities for collaboration in modern urban planning solutions, large-scale infrastructure and construction projects, and the integration of advanced digital technologies.
In addition, both parties engaged in constructive dialogue on enhancing tourism infrastructure, promoting sustainable development practices, and exploring opportunities in the mining and mineral resource sectors. The exchange of ideas reflected a shared commitment to leveraging each country’s strengths to unlock new avenues for economic growth and regional connectivity.
Following the meeting, both agreed to maintain close coordination and continue dialogue at ministerial and departmental levels. This ongoing engagement aims to facilitate the development of concrete projects, strengthen institutional partnerships, and further broaden mutually beneficial cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
