On April 21, 2026, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram had the privilege of facilitating a high-level business delegation comprising leading entrepreneurs from Pakistan and South Korea, engaging with the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Uzbekistan.
This strategic dialogue comes at a pivotal moment as Uzbekistan’s tourism sector continues its remarkable expansion—welcoming over 11 million international visitors and targeting 12 million tourists in 2026. This growth is being driven by progressive reforms, improved connectivity, infrastructure development, and increasing global partnerships that are reshaping the country’s tourism landscape.
The discussions focused on unlocking new avenues for joint investment in hospitality, destination marketing, and sustainable tourism development. Emphasis was placed on leveraging Uzbekistan’s rich Silk Road heritage alongside its rapidly modernizing tourism ecosystem to create high-value experiences for international visitors.
With the number of tourism enterprises surpassing 3,100 and steadily increasing, Uzbekistan presents a compelling and dynamic opportunity for international collaboration, foreign direct investment, and private sector engagement across multiple segments of the tourism industry.
This engagement reflects a shared vision: to position Uzbekistan as a premier global tourism hub while fostering trilateral cooperation between Pakistan, South Korea, and Uzbekistan—driving economic growth, enhancing cultural exchange, and strengthening regional connectivity for long-term sustainable development.
