Chinese Embassy Delegation Meets Chairman, HEC Pakistan

On 17th March 2026, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram had the privilege of being part of a delegation alongside diplomats from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Islamabad. The delegation visited the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Islamabad and held a meeting with Dr. Niaz Akhtar, Chairman of HEC Pakistan, to discuss strategic collaborations between the Higher Education Commission and leading Chinese universities.

Dr. Ayesha Ikram, HEC’s Director General for Global Partnerships, was also present at the meeting. The discussion provided a valuable platform to explore avenues for enhanced academic cooperation, including joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange programs, collaborative degree offerings, and capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening institutional linkages.

Both emphasized the importance of fostering innovation-driven partnerships and promoting knowledge exchange to address global challenges through education and research. These discussions aim to drive innovation, research, and academic excellence, further strengthening ties between both nations and paving the way for sustainable, long-term collaboration in the higher education sector.
