On 6 February 2026, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram participated in the Business-to-Business Forum between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, held in Islamabad as part of the official state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and with strong government engagement on both sides. The event formed part of a broader Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum and the “Made in Uzbekistan” exhibition, which showcased a wide range of innovative Uzbek products designed to deepen economic ties and promote bilateral trade and industrial cooperation. Delegates and business leaders from both countries engaged directly with exhibitors, exploring investment prospects and commercial partnerships.
During the forum, Mr. Akram toured the Uzbekistan Country Exhibition alongside key dignitaries including His Excellency Abdul Aleem Khan, Federal Minister for Communications, His Excellency Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, His Excellency Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Commerce, and Mr. Zahid Rafiq, Chairman of Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. Group. The dignitaries expressed strong interest in the showcased Uzbek products, noting their quality, innovation, and export potential. They emphasized the significant opportunity to enhance Pakistan-Uzbekistan bilateral cooperation, private-sector engagement, and trade growth, building on frameworks such as the Preferential Trade Agreement and joint business initiatives.
