On 2nd February 2026, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad School of Law signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Dispute Resolution Institute (IDI) to promote the advancement of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and strengthen capacity building initiatives in Pakistan.
The MoU was signed by Barrister Zopash Khan, Co-Chair, The Society of Mediators on behalf of the International Dispute Resolution Institute (IDI) and Dr. Hafiz Aziz ur Rehman, Director, School of Law, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. This strategic partnership aims to foster Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) awareness, enhance professional skills, and develop structured training and learning opportunities for students, legal practitioners, and professionals.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University, Advocate Adil Aziz Qazi, Former Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan and Vice Chairman Islamabad Bar Council, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Dr. Salma Malik, Director External Linkages, Quaid-i-Azam University; Mr. Malik Qatadah Jamal Khan, Special Advisor to Vice Chairman Islamabad Bar Council, Dr. Alam Zeb, Assistant Professor, School of Law; and Mr. Wajdan Bukhari, Assistant Professor, School of Law, along with other distinguished participants.
This MoU reflects the shared commitment of Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, and the IDI – International Dispute Resolution Institute to strengthen ADR culture in Pakistan, enhance legal pedagogy, and expand professional development platforms for the legal community.
The collaboration will contribute meaningfully to institutional capacity building, promote innovation in legal education, and support the broader landscape of dispute resolution in Pakistan.
