Panel Discussion on Marqa-e-Haq; “Salute to Guardians of the Nation” held at the National Library of Pakistan, Islamabad

On August 19, 2025, an insightful panel discussion titled “Marqa-e-Haq; Salute to Guardians of the Nation” was held at the National Library of Pakistan, Islamabad. The event was organized by the National Heritage and Culture Division, Government of Pakistan and it was moderated by Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, the Executive Director of the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), who also extended his support to the National Library of Pakistan in organizing this significant discussion and made it more impactful.
The session was graced by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Director General of National Language Promotion Department, who attended as the Chief Guest and it was hosted by Mr. Rana Yasir Arfat, Director General of the National Library of Pakistan, Islamabad.
Other distinguished panelists and speakers included Mr. Raja Javed Iqbal, Former Director General of the National Library of Pakistan, Mr. Malik Muhammad Shaffique, Renowned Senior Journalist, Mr. Zaildar Ahsan Shah, Convener, Foreign Relations Committee of the FPCCI, Advocate Ch. Yaseen Iqbal, Member, International Relations Committee, Islamabad High Court Bar Association, and Ms. Yusra Nisar, Research Coordinator, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF).
This event was organized to pay tribute to the guardians and soldiers of Pakistan who sacrifice everything to protect the motherland and uphold its dignity on the world stage. The discussion was dedicated to Marqa-e-Haq, the historic four-day war in which Pakistan not only defended its sovereignty but also shattered India’s ambitions of regional domination, exposed its hostile agendas, and countered the false propaganda being spread against Pakistan before the world. The event highlighted that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation but it will never compromise on its independence and territorial integrity.
The panel was also held in connection with the celebrations of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, a time of national pride and reflection. Speakers recalled the historic struggle for freedom under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and paid homage to the countless sacrifices that led to the creation of Pakistan in 1947. They emphasized that Independence Day is not only a celebration of freedom but also a reminder of responsibility to protect sovereignty, preserve cultural heritage, and contribute to the progress of the country. The spirit of Marqa-e-Haq was linked with the essence of August 14, demonstrating Pakistan’s resilience in defending its independence while striving for peace, development, and unity.
The speakers further encouraged the audience to stand united with the Armed Forces of Pakistan, uphold the values of patriotism, and become responsible citizens who work selflessly for the progress and prosperity of the nation.
The event concluded with a collective resolve to honor the sacrifices of the past, celebrate the guardians of today, and work together for a stronger, sovereign, and peaceful Pakistan.
