On 20 January 2026, Ms. He He Amanda, Director of Precise Development (HK) Limited, China, along with two members of the Chinese delegation, visited Pakistan to discuss plans for establishing a logistics hub. During the visit, Ms. He He Amanda met with Mr. Muhammad Jawad Akhtar, Blue Economy and Maritime Policy Specialist and former Advisor, Maritime Planning Commission, Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Pakistan, along with the senior management of Pakistan Intermodal Limited in Islamabad. The meeting was convened by Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram.
During the meeting, Pakistan’s strategic geographic location was highlighted, placing it at the crossroads of South Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Western China, and positioning the country as a natural logistics and transit hub. Through the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Pakistan has the potential to evolve from a transit country into a regional logistics powerhouse.
The strategic importance of CPEC was emphasized, as it connects Gwadar Port on the Arabian Sea with China’s Xinjiang region, providing China with one of the shortest and most secure trade routes to the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. This connectivity significantly reduces reliance on the Malacca Strait while lowering transportation time and costs, thereby strengthening regional connectivity, trade integration, and economic cooperation.
