On 2nd February 2026, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) participated as a speaker at the Roundtable Discussion, “Dedicated to the Essence, Content, and Significance of the Address by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the Oliy Majlis and the People of Uzbekistan” at Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islamabad.
His Excellency Mr. Bakhromjon Aloev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and shared valuable insights on Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms, development priorities, and foreign policy vision under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Roundtable Discussion was moderated by His Excellency Mr. Alisher Tukhtaev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, who highlighted the growing strength of Pakistan–Uzbekistan relations and emphasized the importance of academic and policy dialogue in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.
During the session, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram delivered a comprehensive speech focusing on the key themes of the President of Uzbekistan’s address, including governance reforms, socio-economic development, regional connectivity, and enhanced regional cooperation. He also underscored the significance of deepening Pakistan–Uzbekistan relations through people-to-people exchanges, research collaboration, and institutional partnerships.
The Roundtable Discussion was also attended by a wide range of speakers, who shared their perspectives on Uzbekistan’s reform agenda, regional cooperation, and the broader implications of the President’s address.
About 35 participants, including diplomats, academics, policy experts, and representatives from civil society, attended the discussion, reflecting diverse viewpoints and strong interest in Uzbekistan’s development trajectory and its implications for regional cooperation.
