Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram meets Dr. Safdar Ali Shah, Director General CPEC, HEC Pakistan

On 17 February 2026, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director of the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), held a meeting with Dr. Safdar Ali Shah, Director General CPEC at the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. The meeting focused on strengthening academic collaboration, enhancing research cooperation, and promoting educational connectivity under the framework of CPEC and the broader Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

During the meeting, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram briefed Dr. Safdar Ali Shah about the activities and global outreach of the Institute for a Community with Shared Future (ICSF), Communication University of China (CUC), Beijing. He highlighted that ICSF is actively working in 26 countries to promote the concept of a “Community with a Shared Future for Mankind,” while also contributing to academic discourse and policy research related to the Belt and Road Initiative. Mr. Akram emphasized the Institute’s role in fostering intellectual exchange, cultural understanding, and research partnerships among participating countries. He also extended a formal invitation to Dr. Safdar Ali Shah to visit ICSF in Beijing to further explore avenues for collaboration.

Dr. Safdar Ali Shah appreciated the efforts and international contributions of the Institute for a Community with Shared Future (ICSF), acknowledging its significant role in strengthening academic and research linkages between China and partner countries. He expressed his support for initiatives that promote knowledge exchange, joint research, and scholarly engagement under the BRI framework. He also shared insights into HEC’s ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing educational cooperation and institutional partnerships under CPEC.

Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram also commended the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan for its proactive role in advancing CPEC-related educational connectivity. He appreciated HEC’s efforts in facilitating academic exchanges, scholarships, joint research programs, and institutional collaboration between Pakistani and Chinese universities, which are vital for long-term regional development and people-to-people ties.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram presented his book titled “Building a Community with Shared Future: A Hope for Mankind” to Dr. Safdar Ali Shah, who praised the book for its valuable insights into the Belt and Road Initiative, regional integration, and the vision of shared development and cooperation. In a gesture of mutual respect and academic exchange.

Dr. Safdar Ali Shah also presented his book titled “101 Chinese Poems” to Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram. The book is an English translation of selected Chinese literary works featuring traditional landscape art, offering a gateway into the rich history of Chinese culture and strengthening linguistic connectivity between Pakistan and China.
