IDI Management Visits NLPD

On 23 February 2026, the management of the International Dispute Resolution Institute (IDI), including Barrister Zopash Khan, Co-Chair of the International Dispute Resolution Institute (IDI), and Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Member Advisory Board of International Dispute Resolution Institute (IDI), visited the National Language Promotion Department (NLPD), Ministry of National Heritage and Culture Division, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad and held a productive meeting with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Director General of NLPD, and Dr. Rashid Hameed, Executive Director of NLPD, at Islamabad.
The meeting focused on strengthening institutional engagement and exploring areas of mutual cooperation between the two organizations, as well as enhancing collaboration between legal and linguistic institutions, with particular focus on promoting the accessibility of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms through language facilitation and knowledge dissemination. Emphasis was placed on strengthening research cooperation, translating ADR-related materials into Urdu, and organizing joint seminars and awareness programs.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar appreciated the work and growing contributions of International Dispute Resolution Institute (IDI) in advancing mediation and arbitration practices in Pakistan. He acknowledged the Institute’s efforts in promoting structured dialogue and legal awareness initiatives.
Barrister Zopash Khan and Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram commended the pivotal role of National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) in promoting the national language and preserving Pakistan’s cultural and intellectual heritage. They expressed their interest in developing practical collaborative initiatives that align with the shared objectives of both institutions.
The meeting concluded on a constructive note, with both agreeing to maintain continued engagement and explore future collaborative opportunities.
