Chinese Embassy Delegation Visits HEC Pakistan at Islamabad

On 25 February 2026, A high-powered diplomatic delegation from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan visited the Higher Education Commission ( HEC Pakistan ) at Islamabad for meeting with the newly appointed Chairman HEC Pakistan , Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar (S.I).
The delegation extended their warm congratulations to Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar (S.I) on assuming office and expressed strong optimism regarding the future trajectory of higher education cooperation between Pakistan and China under his leadership.
Discussions were substantive and forward-looking, focusing on expanding structured academic collaboration in key priority areas. Both sides reaffirmed that higher education remains a cornerstone of the Pakistan – China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. Beyond infrastructure and economic connectivity, intellectual collaboration and knowledge exchange will define the next phase of bilateral engagement.
Mr Khalid Taimur Akram was honored to participate in this important dialogue as an International Relations expert on China. The meeting reflected a clear commitment to institutionalizing academic partnerships through measurable frameworks, research clusters, and sustained policy coordination.
With Pakistan’s dynamic youth population and China’s technological advancement and research depth, the opportunity to build a robust knowledge corridor between our two nations is both strategic and timely.
